Shorefront Parkway Projects at Rockaway Beach and Boardwalk: Environmental Assessment
The Rockaway Beach Boardwalk and the adjacent areas, including amenities along Shorefront Parkway, were destroyed in 2012 by Hurricane Sandy and much of the existing amenities were severely damaged and in need of repair and/or reconstruction. The Rockaway Parks Conceptual Plan was published in the spring of 2014 to establish guidelines for a comprehensive park system in the Rockaways.
