NYC Parks: Framework for an Equitable Future

Creating thriving public spaces for all New Yorkers

NYC Parks’ Framework for an Equitable Future is our commitment to creating thriving public spaces for all New Yorkers. This framework will strategically allocate resources; make our city cleaner, greener, and more resilient; incorporate substantial community and stakeholder engagement; and develop innovative and data-driven approaches to designing, planning, developing, and delivering services in our parks. We will protect the investment in parks that we have already made, and improve the quality, accessibility, efficiency, and sustainability of the overall park system and of the parks that serve New York City’s diverse neighborhoods throughout the five boroughs.

Community Parks Initiative

The Community Parks Initiative is our plan for investing in public parks in neighborhoods that are densely populated, growing, and contain higher-than-average concentrations of poverty, and making sure that those communities are involved in how their parks are improved.
