The Greenbelt
Greenbelt Headquarters and the Environmental Education Department
Greenbelt Headquarters and the Greenbelt Environmental Education Department are located in rustic High Rock Park. The education center, which received landmark status in 1971, offers science, art and hiking programs for school groups. A popular summer camp also attracts children from all parts of New York City. The center publishes an environmental magazine for "young naturalists" and offers school recess programs, teacher workshops and intergenerational classes on and offsite throughout the year.
