This project will install a specially-built passage to help fish swim upstream. The passage will establish a sustainable herring population on the river by providing access to freshwater spawning habitat. The project will also include a canoe portage, reconstruction of parts of the dam, fencing, a new picnic area and restoration of the surrounding ecosystem.
