Echoes of the Earth: Poetry & Movement in Green Spaces

Tuesday, May 13, 2025

6:00 p.m.7:30 p.m.

Discover how storytelling and nature come together in this workshop at Escape to Nature! This week, we’ll explore the theatrical magic of “Pirates! The Penzance Musical”, a story of adventure, freedom, and the unexpected wonders of the world. Just as gardeners work with the unpredictable forces of nature, actors bring stories to life with movement, rhythm, and improvisation. Through performance, we’ll draw connections between the themes of the play and the cycles of growth, exploration, and resilience found in the garden. Using natural and found materials like leaves, twigs, and stones, we’ll craft poetry and reimagine scenes, giving them new life through a gardener’s perspective.

What we’ll do:
- Express creativity through movement inspired by nature’s rhythms.
- Use found objects to create poetry and visual storytelling.
- Reimagine scenes from Pirates! with themes of discovery, transformation, and the wild beauty of the natural world.

No theater experience is needed—just an open mind, a willingness to play, and a love for nature!
