Concert: Hank Johnson and Yovanne Pierre: Solo Piano

Hank Johnson - Brooklynite Hank Johnson began piano study at age three, first in classical
instruction, and learned to write his own music. Since becoming active in the jazz scene, he has played
numerous mainstay venues including Jazz at 966, the Lenox Lounge, the Village Door Restaurant and
Supper Club in Jamaica, Queens. Hank has published numerous original compositions (under his given name, Stuart H. Tresser).
Yovanne Pierre - Pianist & Organist Yovanne Pierre was raised in a musical family and trained at
Third Street Music Settlement and Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. As a teen he worked with the
Pan American Symphony Orchestra as well as gospel great James Cleveland, then went on to work
with major artists like Melba Moore, Willie Colon, Ray Barretto, Ashford & Simpson and T.S. Monk.
