What Is an Environmental Assessment, Anyway?
Wednesday, April 9, 2025

Big construction projects often require an environmental assessment or an environmental impact statement. These are reports that specify how the project would impact the community’s air, water, and soil health. It also speaks to how the project might impact flooding in the area. Basically, these reports help a community understand the environmental impacts of a project, and answer the question if the benefit of the project is equal to its long term cost. Once construction is done, it is the community who will have to breathe the air or clean the water.
