Storytelling in Bloom: Theater in the Garden
Tuesday, May 6, 2025
6:00 p.m.–7:30 p.m.
Step into a world where nature and storytelling come together! Stories evolve through words, movement, and imagination as a garden transforms with the seasons. In this workshop, we’ll explore how poetry and performance can bring narratives to life—connecting the themes of growth, resilience, and transformation in nature and theater. Using found materials like leaves, stones, and branches, we’ll create poetry inspired by the land and reimagine key moments from the plays “Liberation” and “Pirates! The Penzance Musical.” Through these performances, we’ll reflect on themes of freedom, adventure, and renewal—concepts gardeners intimately understand as they cultivate and care for their spaces.
What we’ll do:
- Perform short scenes inspired by the natural world.
- Use objects found in the garden to create poetry and visual storytelling.
- Connect the plays’ themes to our relationship with the land, seasons, and cycles of renewal.
No theater experience is needed—curiosity, creativity, and a love for nature!
