261st Pollinator Garden Volunteer Day at Van Cortlandt Park

Join us in maintaining the 261st Pollinator Garden and surrounding open field at Van Cortlandt Park! Alongside our partners at the Riverdale Main Streets Alliance, volunteers will help care for this essential habitat, supporting native pollinators like bees, butterflies, and other beneficial wildlife.
What You’ll Do:
Tasks will vary by season but may include:
? Weeding & Mulching – Removing invasive plants and refreshing mulch to support native species.
? Planting & Watering – Helping establish native wildflowers and other pollinator-friendly plants.
? General Garden Maintenance – Keeping the space clean, healthy, and welcoming for both pollinators and people.

? Date: Saturday, April 26
? Time: 10am - 12pm EDT
? Meeting Location: The garden at W. 261st St. & Broadway, Van Cortlandt Park
What to Bring:
• Comfortable clothes that can get dirty (long pants & sleeves recommended)
• Sturdy, closed-toe shoes
• Water bottle and snacks
• Sunscreen and bug spray (as needed)
? No experience necessary! We provide gloves, tools, and guidance. Just bring your enthusiasm for conservation and community service.
