Volunteer Workday: Garden of Life (Brooklyn)
Saturday, April 5, 2025
10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
GreenThumb community gardens are developed, led, and cared for by dedicated volunteers who critically upkeep community gardens as public green spaces.
Garden of Life is a serene, green oasis in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn cared for by a few long-standing community members. The garden features 16 food-producing plots, wheelchair-accessible pathways, and dedicated gathering spaces. During this volunteer day, participants will engage in meaningful, hands-on projects, such as building two (2) types of plant-supporting trellises and adding soil to vegetable plots. This is a great opportunity for those interested in getting involved with a community garden! Bring water, snacks, and comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing. Please note that some activities may involve lifting heavy material and moving, bending, and squatting for long periods.
