Create A Welcome Station For Your Garden
Saturday, April 5, 2025
10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Do you want a welcoming way to greet visitors in your garden? Join Lillian, our GreenThumb instructor, for a hands-on workshop to build a welcome station. This station serves many purposes:
- Provides information about your garden.
- Acts as a podium for speeches.
- Helps youth develop public speaking skills.
- Serves as a debate station for community discussions.
By the end, you'll have a portable podium ready to use. The station weighs over 35 pounds, so bring a sturdy way to carry it home. This workshop is perfect for garden tours, youth programs, or community events!
NYC Parks GreenThumb hosts this event. We are proud to be the nation’s most extensive urban community gardening program, sustaining over 550 gardens throughout New York City. With GreenThumb’s support, community gardens are centers of environmental justice, ensuring that our city is fairer, safer, and greener for all. GreenThumb’s events are free and open to the public.
