Farmhouse Family Day: Fabrics of the Diaspora

This Black History Month, learn about the history of Western Africa and the Diaspora through the story woven intricately into fabrics. Find your creative resistance by learning about the history art of Adire Eleko, a wax resist dying technique practiced by the Egba People of Yorubaland (Nigeria, Benin and Togo).
Prepare for your visit:
- Family Day is from 11AM-3PM with the craft activity beginning at 1PM. This is an all ages event, ideal for kids ages 4-12.
- Tours of the Wyckoff House will be available starting at 12PM
- Dress appropriately for the weather – Family Day takes place indoors and outdoors – and wear closed toed shoes if you plan on participating in any farm activities.
