Greenbelt Native Plant Center Gardening
Sunday, October 13, 2024
10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Join the Greenbelt Native Plant Center staff for a gardening day! Tasks may include transplanting plants into bigger pots, weeding, seeding, moving potted plants, and other outdoor nursery activities. Volunteers in attendance may also help with GNPC's new volunteer vegetable garden program. Please come prepared for inclement weather outdoors, sturdy footwear, and long-sleeved shirts that can get dirty. It is also recommended to wear a hat and bring sunscreen. Stick around for a plant giveaway after the workday! Volunteers can browse our free plants and take home their favorites. It's first come, first served, so grab as many as you can carry! Our friendly staff will be there to help with plant selection and answer any questions Space is limited and registration is required. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. To sign up a group of 10 or more volunteers please reach out to stewardship@parks.nyc.gov.
