Request a Street Tree

You can have a tree planted on your street for free! Submit a Service Request through our tree service request system or by calling 311. After making your Service Request, you will receive an identification number to track its status.

  • Requests for tree planting cannot be satisfied immediately. It may take a year or more for inspection. If the requested planting site meets our standards, planting may take two years or more.
  • A Parks Forester will survey each requested location to ensure there are no conflicts with the surrounding infrastructure and that the site is suitable for a tree to grow and thrive. If a site is found to be suitable for a new tree, we will add it to a list to be planted during our next available planting season.

  • You can make requests for existing empty tree beds and paved sidewalk locations.
  • You can request a particular tree species, but the Parks Forester in charge of the planting will determine the final species. Their primary goal is to select a tree that will grow safely and provide the greatest benefits to a neighborhood.
  • Trees are planted during the planting season from October through June, depending on weather. Parks does not plant on private property.

Note: Individuals attempting to fulfill a City planting requirement cannot use this service.
