Black Birders Week: Birding by Canoe Excursion (Advanced)

Celebrate Black Birders Week with a canoe excursion into the salt marsh ecosystem of Hook Creek Park. We will search for the many species of birds that call this area their home while enjoying the scenic views out on the water. Participants are selected by lottery.
Note: This program is an advanced canoe excursion due to stronger currents and other factors. Participants must be experienced paddlers. Ages 8 and up. Participants are selected by lottery. Lottery registration begins Wednesday May 21.

Paerdegat Basin Park
Ecology Park is a five acre site set within Paerdegat Basin Park. The goal of the park is to promote habitat restoration and ecological improvement, highlighting fourteen native plant community types that exist or once existed in New York City.
