Rockaway Beach Coastal Cleanup and Boardwalk

10:00 a.m.1:00 p.m.

Volunteer with the Stewardship Team to protect coastal areas at Rockaway Beach! Volunteers will help us remove the debris from the coastline creating a healthier ecosystem and the NYC Parks Wildlife Unit will host a bird walk! Face masks may be worn at your discretion. Come dressed in sturdy boots or shoes, long pants, and clothing that can get dirty.

Registration

Space is limited and registration is required. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a chaperone. To sign up a group of 10 or more volunteers please reach out to stewardship@parks.nyc.gov.

Paerdegat Basin Park
Ecology Park is a five acre site set within Paerdegat Basin Park. The goal of the park is to promote habitat restoration and ecological improvement, highlighting fourteen native plant community types that exist or once existed in New York City.

Ecology Park is only open at certain times of year when Parks staff are present in order to protect this unique landscape. Want to visit? Check out our Stewardship Projects page for restoration, planting, and educational events.
