Build Your Own City: Urban Planning w/ Cities Skylines

This event repeats every week on Tuesday and Thursday between 1/31/2025 and 4/4/2025.

Explore the world of Urban Planning in this interactive workshop where students use the city-building game "Cities Skylines" to design their own functional cities. Learn how urban planning impacts transportation, green spaces, and daily life in this fun, skill-building experience for middle and high schoolers (8th to 12th grade).

Your child will:

  • Develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Gain insight into real-world geography and urban systems
  • Learn about sustainability and environmental planning

Paerdegat Basin Park
Ecology Park is a five acre site set within Paerdegat Basin Park. The goal of the park is to promote habitat restoration and ecological improvement, highlighting fourteen native plant community types that exist or once existed in New York City.
