This Weekend In Parks
Staten Island
Come watch local Staten Island teams compete in weekend-long Double Dutch and Basketball Tournaments. The event is being hosted by the Cromwell Recreation Center on Saturday, June 24 and Sunday, June 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The tournament will provide plenty of excitement for spectators as well as food and giveaways. The Cromwell Recreation Center is located at Pier 6 and Murray Hulber Avenue.
Manhattan
Join the Moosehall Theatre Company at the Inwood Park Peninsula at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 24 for a free theatrical performance. The Company will be presenting Shakespeare’s "Much Ado About Nothing" in a picturesque outdoor setting. Don’t forget to bring a blanket or something to sit on! Entrances are located at 218th Street and Indian Road, and at Isham Street and Seaman Avenue in Northern Manhattan.Queens
Parks is proud to present the Parks Summer Festival at Beach 103 Playground. On Saturday, June 24, it will be a day of free fun activities for the whole family. From 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., there will be arts and crafts, food, music, games, and much more! Beach 103 Playground is located at 106th Street and Shore Front Parkway.
Bronx
Celebrate the vibrancy of the Bronx on Saturday, June 24 by attending the Bronx Week Parade. The fun begins along Mosholu Parkway, with floats, bands and thousands of proud marchers. After the parade, the celebration continues with a festival in Van Cortlandt Park with food, arts, and music. The festivities will take place between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Brooklyn
The performing arts will be highlighted at Celebrate Brooklyn! on Saturday, June 24. There will be an incredible performance by the innovative dancer Savion Glover, while accompanied by a jazz band. There will also be a live jazz performance by the talented pianist Robert Glasper. The free outdoor show will be at the Prospect Park Bandshell on Prospect Park West and 11th Street.
