Bring your mom to celebrate Mother’s Day at the Merchant’s House! Eliza Tredwell, matriarch of the Tredwell family, gave birth to eight children between 1821 and 1840. On this special tour, learn what motherhood entailed in the 19th century, both for wealthy women like Eliza, and members of the lower classes. We’ll also discuss the role of women in the household more broadly, as well as the history of the holiday.
