Tree Time, a program of the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation and the City Parks Foundation, was established in 1994 to protect, preserve, and enhance New York City's street, park and forest trees. The goals of Tree Time are to foster public-private partnerships in urban forestry, raise public awareness of the importance of urban forestry conservation and stewardship, promote new technologies to enhance tree survival and advance innovative management tools, and revitalize historically and arboreally significant municipal trees.
Donations to Tree Time enable the installation of tree guards, tree planting, and sidewalk repair. Tree Time works with qualified contractors who follow the city specifications and standards so you can be assured to receive the highest quality work.

Tree Guard Installation
Tree Time offers several different tree guard designs for various tree pit sizes. You can use Tree Time’s Tree Guard Inquiry form to learn more about tree guards at your site. Once Tree Time has reviewed your site information, they will follow up with more detailed pricing and donation information.

Great Trees of New York City
Tree Time also maintains the list of "Great Trees of New York City." Originally developed from a citywide Great Tree Search in 1985, these heritage trees are symbols of New York City's urban forest.
