Meeting Location: Idlewild Park Preserve Environmental Science Learning Center parking lot - 149th Ave & Springfield Lane

Description: Join NYC Parks staff on a spring ephemerals walk in Idlewild Park for City Nature Challenge, an international citizen-science campaign to document urban biodiversity! Attendees will learn to identify the first plants to emerge in spring and record iNaturalist observations of any signs of nature they encounter. Please bring water and a snack as well as your smartphone. If you are unfamiliar with iNaturalist, arrive 15 minutes early for a brief tutorial. After the walk, head to the Idlewild Environmental Center to take part in Eastern Queens Alliance's Earth Day celebration! This program has been funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
