Green Neighborhoods Program

Volunteers pruning

The Green Neighborhoods Program is an NYC Parks Stewardship Team initiative to promote local community in the care of street trees, forests, wetlands, gardens, and other natural resources in neighborhoods around the city. Sign up for an event in your neighborhood below.

This Year’s Green Neighborhoods

Each year, the Green Neighborhoods Program will focus its stewardship efforts in select neighborhoods in need of care. This year, the program will take place in the following neighborhoods from April 2019 through February 2020:

  • Edenwald, Bronx
  • Conference House Park, Staten Island
  • Bayside, Queens

Who Should Volunteer

The Green Neighborhoods Program is for anyone living or working in or around one of this year’s neighborhoods. We can accommodate local groups and individuals with a wide range of experience levels and abilities. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Groups of children must be accompanied by adults and maintain a 1:5 ratio of adults to children (for example, two adults must lead a group of ten children).
