This small green space marks the West 230th Street entrance to the Major Deegan Expressway. It is best known for a memorial to Firefighter Paul A. Tegtmeier, a member of Ladder Company 46 who lost his life on September 11, 2001, becoming one of the 343 FDNY first responders to be killed during the attacks on the World Trade Center.
