Superfly Presents, the co-founders and producers of Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival and Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival, recently announced that it will be producing The Great GoogaMooga, a food, drink and music festival in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park on May 19 and 20.

Spanning across the park’s Nethermead area and making for the ultimate sensory experience, GoogaMooga will host approximately 75 food vendors, 35 brewers, 30 winemakers and 20 live music performances. General Admission at GoogaMooga is free but attendees must register to obtain a ticket to the event; the festival has the capacity to host tens of thousands of food and music fans per day. Concessions in General Admission will be priced individually. There will also be a limited amount of tickets to a paid-for, all-inclusive experience: “Extra Mooga.”

In creating the festival’s look, feel and tastes, Superfly took a collaborative approach, working with leading personalities and talents in the hospitality industry such as Anthony Bourdain, David Rockwell, Allan Benton, Marcus Samuelsson, Eddie Huang, Paul Grieco, Garrett Oliver, and Darin & Greg Bresnitz. GoogaMooga will bring some of New York’s most loved dining destinations to Prospect Park. Among the festival’s growing list of vendors are Tom Colicchio’s Colicchio & Sons, April Bloomfield and Ken Friedman’s The Spotted Pig, Roberta’s, Christina Tosi’s Momofuku Milk Bar, Daniel Boulud’s DBGB Kitchen & Bar, M.Wells, Do or Dine, Frankies 457 Spuntino, Russ & Daughters and the Big Gay Ice Cream Shop.

“New York City and the borough of Brooklyn are celebrated for their thriving culture, vibrant music scene and exotic foods. There’s no better way to enjoy all three at once than in Brooklyn’s backyard, Prospect Park. We are thrilled to add The Great GoogaMooga to our long list of free events going on in Parks this spring,” said New York City Department of Parks & Recreation Commissioner, Adrian Benepe.

“Prospect Park is delighted to be the location for The Great GoogaMooga. We know that this will be a wonderful celebration of food, music and Prospect Park – three things that make Brooklyn such a wonderful place to live, work and play,” said Prospect Park Administrator and President of the Prospect Park Alliance, Emily Lloyd.

The music acts at GoogaMooga will be announced in the coming weeks and will feature live performances by locally and nationally renowned artists from a variety of genres. Performances will be on two stages throughout the weekend.

Extra Mooga will take place in a special wooded section of the park, including the Boathouse, which overlooks the Lullwater and Lake. Guests will have prime viewing of the main stage concerts as well as access to exclusive performances, seminars, demos and theme parties such as "Marcus Samuelsson's 1920's Harlem Renaissance Party." Extra Mooga will include performances by culinary luminary Anthony Bourdain and Parks and Recreation star and comedian Aziz Ansari as well as a DJ Set by James Murphy, DFA Records / LCD Soundsystem.
