"PLANT PROFILE"

ELIZABETH "BETTY" CROWLEY

As the senior clerical person (PAA) in the Parks Advocate's Office, Elizabeth "Betty" Crowley assists the Advocate’s Office in processing paperwork regarding employee investigations and disciplinary proceedings involving employee misconduct and incompetence. During her 16 years working in the Parks Advocate’s Office, Betty has seen a lot of employees involved in many strange things. "I’ve seen a lot of people come through here – some people many different times."

Betty is a second generation "Parkie." Her father, Thomas Crowley, was a Queens employee who worked his way up through the ranks to the position of APRM. He worked for the agency for 29 years. A lifelong Queens resident, Betty started working at Parks while in High School as a seasonal worker and started working full time for Parks after graduating from Nassau Community College.

Betty is a voracious reader and an avid Mets, Rangers and Jets Fan. She is most knowledgeable in the area of pop culture and knows her movies, pop music, and most especially, soap operas. Her other hobbies include bowling (she bowls regularly in a competitive league), video games, and shopping. Also, she belongs to the American Legion and is President of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary of Williston Park.

Betty’s institutional knowledge has made her an invaluable part of the Advocate’s Office. Few things get done without her assistance.
