This Weekend In Parks
Nature Centers
Autumn is a perfect time to visit one of Parks’ 14 Urban Park Ranger Nature Centers. The centers are hubs of urban exploration, natural wonder and education. They provide a great starting point for any park visit. They also include exhibits and material about their surrounding parks, including Outdoors in NYC, the Urban Park Rangers quarterly newsletter.
Walk NYC
The Walk NYC season is ending in October! Walk NYC is a free program that encourages New Yorkers of all ages to get fit while enjoying the outdoors. With funding provided by Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, Parks has 30 park locations throughout the city staffed with trained walking instructors to lead walks. Check it out before the program ends!
