This Weekend In Parks
"Sneak Peak" at Freshkills Park
This Sunday, October 3, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Parks will celebrate the first ever public event at the Freshkills Park site in Staten Island. With rolling hills, bucolic creeks and the changing season, there's no better time to see what will one day become New York's largest park. The afternoon will be packed full of activities, with walking tours, canoeing, kite-making, workshops, and more!
26th Annual Medieval Festival
Join us at Fort Tryon Park from 11:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. this Sunday for the 26th annual Medieval Festival, which brings the spirit of the Middle Ages to northern Manhattan. Fort Tryon Park will be transformed into a medieval market town decorated with bright banners and processional flags. Visitors can expect to be entertained by authentic medieval music, dance, magic, and performances. The afternoon will conclude with a thrilling joust between knights on horseback.
