Fresh Creek Nature Preserve

Brooklyn
Directions via Google Maps
One of Brooklyn’s hidden bastions of wildlife, Fresh Creek Park contains 42 acres of salt marsh. Plants such as Faber’s foxtail and velvetleaf flourish, and many species of birds, butterflies, and fish live inside its borders.
Not all of Fresh Creek is accessible to the public, but the tranquil land off of its eastern shore provides a haven for bird-watching, and walks along the path along the marsh offer the opportunity to catch rare glimpses of untamed Brooklyn.
