High Flying Fun At The Alley Pond Adventure Course

The weather may be getting cooler, but it’s still warm enough for some outdoor fun. Come to Alley Pond Park in Queens and check out the City’s first adventure course and the largest of its kind in the region. The Alley Pond Park Adventure Course features a challenge course with both low and high ropes course elements, including a zip-line, a rock-climbing wall and balance platforms.

“First came skate parks, then surfing, then hiking and camping, then mountain biking. Now you can zip through the tree tops and tiptoe along a log, four stories in the air – all without leaving New York City,” said Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe. “The Alley Pond Park Adventure Course is the latest and most innovative addition to our recreation collection, adding to the scores of ways New Yorkers can enjoy the great outdoors.”

The Urban Park Rangers will guide participants through the Adventure Course for FREE on Sundays through November or during an arranged group outing. Free public programs will also be offered for the upcoming fall holidays, including, Columbus Day, Election Day and Veterans Day from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Families with children (ages 8 and above) and adults are welcome on a first-come, first-served basis.

Professional development sessions are available to all companies seeking a new innovative way to train and manage their staff. All of the elements of the Alley Pond Park Adventure Course promote teambuilding and problem-solving skills. Course programs can be designed to meet a number of professional, developmental, organizational and personal goals. A series of activities enable participants to work through physically and intellectually demanding situations as a team.
