Van Cortlandt Park

Join VCHM Director Margaret Holmes for a special guided tour exploring the lives of women in New York from the seventeenth through the nineteenth centuries. Using objects from the museum’s collection and the historic domestic spaces of the house, this tour examines how women shaped both home life and the broader social fabric of their time.

This program is a guided, one-hour tour of Van Cortlandt House Museum which includes some walking on the lawn outdoors and ascending and descending several flights of stairs. A general (not specialized) 360 -degree tour of the house is available at the museum's Welcome Center, where staff will also be available to answer questions.
