NYC PARKS ISSUES REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR SALE OF SPECIALTY ITEMS FROM MOBILE UNITS
NYC Parks has released a Request for Proposals (“RFP”) for the sale of specialty items from mobile units at locations citywide. Parks is seeking operators to sell food items or plants from pushcarts or mobile trucks at various parks in all five boroughs.
“Our diverse vendors add to the vibrancy of our parks and provide visitors a chance to enjoy top quality food and other items in some of the city's most scenic locations. Currently, more than 20 specialty concessionaires operate within our parks and open spaces, and we look forward to welcoming more creative offerings,” said NYC Parks Commissioner Sue Donoghue. “We invite you to propose your most inventive concept — whether it’s selling an assortment of fresh salads to people on the go, offering ethnic delicacies, or fresh flowers to spruce up New Yorkers’ homes. Come partner with us and contribute to our city’s diverse and unique culture!”
Parks is seeking concessionaires for a five-year term per location.
Available locations include Crotona Park in the Bronx, Brooklyn Heights Promenade in Brooklyn, Madison Square Park in Manhattan, Forest Park in Queens, and South Beach/FDR Boardwalk in Staten Island, among many others. A full list of available locations is provided in the RFP.
Concessionaires must operate as a self-contained service located in mobile units for the sale of food and beverages such as ethnic foods, specialty sandwiches, salads, desserts, coffee, juice, and other non-alcoholic beverages, or the sale of non-food items, such as flowers and dog treats.
Those interested can submit proposals for any or all of the approved vending locations but are required to submit separate proposals and deposits for each location they wish to apply for.
The deadline for proposals is Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 3:00 PM.
