Parks’ photographer Daniel Avila captured the action as a mallard and her ducklings were escorted to the safety of Central Park through the hazardous traffic of the Upper East Side. The mallard had built a nest for her ducklings in one of Park Avenue's traffic islands, which proved to be a poor location. Urban Parks Rangers came to the rescue, escorting the family to a new home in Central Park!
