On July 13, 2012 Memorial Grove at Van Cortlandt Park re-opened after renovations to improve the site. Memorial Grove is dedicated to Bronx veterans who served in WWII and Korea. The improvements included refurbishing the existing 24 plaques, recreating 15 missing plaques and mounting all 39 plaques on new granite foundations.
