On April 19, 2013 NYC Parks celebrated its 2nd annual Rising Stars Award Ceremony in the Prospect Park Picnic House. Rising Stars recognizes teens who have committed to recreation programs for over two years and have illustrated leadership efforts within these programs. Such programs include dance, culinary arts, karate, double dutch, and Green Teen. The 2013 ceremony honored twelve teens all of which will go on to conduct organized activities for children in their programs of choice. Award winners will also receive support in finding employement and/or internships with Park partners.
