As part of a large scale tree planting effort which took place November 7 and 8, more than 1,000 volunteers planted 15,000 trees at eleven forest restoration sites across the City. During one of his stops on November 8, Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe joined New York Knicks players Chris Duhon, Anthony Roberson and Knicks legend John Starks in planting trees with community volunteers at Pelham Parkway in the Bronx.
