On August 31, 2009, NYC Parks cut the ribbon on $1.7 million in improvements to Campanaro Playground. Thanks to the funding, the infrastructure, play equipment, passive areas, and horticulture at the park were improved. Funding for this project and others were allocated thanks to the Croton Mitigation Funds, a more than $200 million commitment to Bronx parks.
