Recovery is in full swing as all park holiday markets welcome patrons for the first time since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic
NYC Parks is proud to support the reopening of some of the city’s most iconic holiday markets this season. Now through January, you can find holiday markets welcoming New Yorkers and visitors back to shop for clothes, trinkets, arts and crafts, and so much more in some of New York City’s famous parks. Last year, due to COVID-19, some of the City’s most notable markets did not open or opened with reduced capacity and restrictions, but this year NYC’s holiday staple is back in full swing.
“New York City is starting to feel a lot like NEW YORK CITY again. The full reopening of the holiday markets signals recovery, and our progress towards bringing our city back,” said NYC Parks Commissioner Gabrielle Fialkoff. “We invite all New Yorkers to enjoy the wonders of the holiday season by taking a stroll through markets in iconic parks like Union Square, Bryant Park and Central Park’s Columbus Circle.”
Curated by Urbanspace, this year’s holiday markets highlight art, culture, food, and of course, the fun of holiday shopping. Whether you’re strolling through Union Square, ice skating at the Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park, or passing by Columbus Circle on your way through Central Park, stop in and take a look at what these holiday markets have to offer.
“Not running our Union Square and Columbus Circle Holiday Markets last year was devastating, but it makes this year even more special,” says Urbanspace NYC President Eldon Scott. “When November rolls around it’s like a homecoming for us and for the vendors. You can feel the excitement for the start of a festive holiday season!”
