Two proud lions greet you at the brick entrance to Slattery Playground, welcoming you to a place for children to enjoy themselves. After entering from the central sitting area, kids can take advantage of tot or children's swings, or a well-loved play area. Towards the rear of the park, you can find a row of handball courts, as well as an area for basketball that includes more than a half-dozen rims as well as two full courts. This park is named for Corporal Robert A. Slattery, a Bronx resident and the first New York City Police Officer to be killed in action in World War I.

This map is designed to represent parks as they are used by the public. It should not be used to represent the legal boundaries of property under Parks jurisdiction. If you would like to view all City property under the jurisdiction of NYC Parks, please visit NYC OpenData.
