Sheltering Arms Pool provides a welcome urban oasis to beat the summer heat. This brightly colored pool has a throwback feel. The smaller wading pool and 3.5-foot deep pool offer Harlem residents a place to chill during the summer, and the cabana-style seating and vivid designs make this pool a destination.

The park is named after The Sheltering Arms, an asylum that once existed at this site for children suffering the deepest poverty, and even when the pool is closed for the season, it remains a popular neighborhood destination. The playground features handball courts and play areas for younger and older children.
