There's no need to head Upstate to experience the awe of New York's natural wonders. Plan your next hiking trip right here in New York City!

This Saturday, June 4, on National Trails Day, join the NYC Parks Urban Park Rangers on a guided hike through some of NYC’s most scenic parks, or visit our Trail Maps to plan your own solo hike. Just in time for National Trails day, Parks has created new digital trail guides for: Seton Falls, Highbridge, and Ocean Breeze Parks, as well as for all trails in the Staten Island Greenbelt park system.

With 300 miles of trails, New York City’s public greenspaces are prime locations for those seeking serene views, natural landscapes and adventure. Hikers will be able to explore natural areas, glacial potholes, forests and more.

While trekking through these beautiful parks, you'll come across all kinds of wildlife, from the majestic ospreys nesting high up on utility poles to turtles sunbathing on rocks in ponds. Along the way, you can also visit historic places that give a glimpse of Old New York and tell the story of our city.
