Lt. Joseph Petrosino Park, named for New York City's first Italian-American detective, has become a highlight of the Bensonhurst community, offering a variety of activities to satisfy parkgoers from across south Brooklyn. Children are greeted by a long row of swings and climbing equipment friendly for both tots and older kids. Towards 70th Street, teens and adults can find game tables and outdoor fitness equipment, along with a pair of handball courts and a full-sized basketball court. A plaza in the south of the park provides seating for commuters using the 71st Street stop of the D Train.
