Make your next stop Justice Gilbert Ramirez Park. This neighborhood playground located near the Morgan Avenue Subway Station has a New York City Transit theme, with play equipment shaped like a subway entrance and art inspired by classic subway tokens embedded in the ground. The playground also features basketball and handball courts, as well as a small garden perfect for sitting and reflecting. This playground is named after an inspiring civic leader, Justice Gilbert Ramirez, who overcame being blinded as a young adult to become the first Puerto Rican elected to the New York State Assembly, a member of the State Supreme Court, and an advocate for the community and for people with disabilities.
