Fiorello La Guardia Park is a series of public plazas that are located on the eastern side of LaGuardia Place. In the early 1990s, the Friends of La Guardia Place raised funds what had been a barren area razed to make way for the never built Fifth Avenue South connector to the unrealized Lower Manhattan Expressway. Today, the park includes several planting beds, a community garden, and a playground.
