AccessibilityDespite its relatively small size, Eibs Pond Park serves as habitat for over 80 bird species, including snowy egrets. The clay-bottomed pond itself covers three acres, making it the largest kettle pond in New York City. The park’s animal life doesn’t just include birds. At various points throughout the year, the park is home to bluegill sunfish, large-mouth bass, painted turtles, and muskrats. Plantlife includes bulrushes, cattails, cinnamon fern, sassafras, water lilies, porcelain berry, common reeds, and mugworts.
