"PLANT PROFILE"
Marlin Brock

Born in Harlem, NY Marlin Brock works for the Payroll & Timekeeping Division maintaining the accounts for over 400 Bronx Borough seasonal employees. He began with Parks in June 2001 as a Seasonal Timekeeper. His efficient work quickly made him stand out among the other Seasonal Timekeepers. To assist with the ever-growing Parks Opportunity Program, his seasonal line was extended before he was hired for a permanent Timekeeping position.

After work, Marlin spends his time in the studio recording an album with his group, TEAM ALLIANCE. Marlin also produces music for an independent label, Harlem Entertainment Company. Although Marlin has a busy schedule, he always finds time to spend with his 5 month old son, Marquise Anthony Brock. Marlin’s hobbies also include playing basketball and writing music.

THIRTEEN YEARS AGO IN THE PLANT

TEE OFF BY THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE AT

CENTRAL PARKS "GOTHAM GOLF"

"I made a hole in one!" Bree Coven shouted, as her golfball bounced against the Flatiron building, streaked over the Brooklyn Bridge and plopped into the hole. Coven was one of the first patrons of Central Park’s newest attraction—minitature golf.

Wollman Rink’s "Gotham Golf" is a miniature city, where golfers can swing through the five boroughs, stopping at prominent landmarks along the way. It includes models of the Empire State building, Fifth Avenue, Wall Street, the Bronx Zoo, Central Park, and LaGuardia Airport.

QUOTATION FOR THE DAY

What a delightful thing is the conversation of specialists! One understands absolutely nothing and it’s charming.

Edgar Degas
(b. July 19, 1834–1917)
