THE DAILY PLANT IS PLEASED TO INTRODUCE "PLANT PROFILE"
A new feature is being added to The Daily Plant line-up called "Plant Profile." Each Friday we will profile one Parks employee who does something noteworthy, both within, and outside of, Parks. It is intended to serve as a tool by which Parks can become a closer-knit community, informing the rest of us on what fellow employees are involved in professionally and extracurricularly.
We’re enthusiastic that this feature will help bring the many areas of Parks closer together. This is an opportunity for someone who works in a recreation center in the Bronx to get to know a Ranger from a park in Staten Island. Parks is filled with interesting, unique, and diverse people and we are happy to share that with our readers. It should be a fun piece to look forward to each Friday. Now on to our first "Plant Profile"….
Muhammad Nadeem
Where else would a car racing enthusiast get a job then at 5-Boro? Muhammad Nadeem is Parks Signs Coordinator at 5-Boro. He makes sure our thousands of routed signs, rules signs, historical signs and plaques get made quickly and correctly. When not running back and forth from Parks Sign Shop to our sign vendors, Muhammad relaxes at a driving track in Long Island where he tests his limits in a Grand National drag racing car that he owns - - not a Parks car, of course.
Muhammad was born on January 5, 1968 in Karachi, Pakistan. He moved to Queens in 1984, where he still lives. Muhammad worked at Kennedy Airport for over ten years helping to run Smarte Carte, the baggage cart service, until joining Parks in January 2001. Muhammad has been married for 11 years to Teresa and has two sons Eddie, 15, and Richard, 10. Feel free to visit him on your next trip to 5-Boro. Drive slowly though.
