Beattie Square is one of the oldest public parks in Brooklyn. First dedicated in 1884, it was named in 1921 for Joseph S. Beattie, a Private in Company G of the 305th Infantry in the United States Army in World War I.

This woodchip-lined park, which faces the neo-classical Urban Sports and Cultural Center, lies along the boundary of Bushwick and Bedford-Stuyvesant. Coniferous evergreens, pink and white primroses, hedges and thorny bushes make this site a woodsy escape from the surrounding streets.  An elegant black and gold four-foot-high fence encloses Beattie Square.

This map is designed to represent parks as they are used by the public. It should not be used to represent the legal boundaries of property under Parks jurisdiction. If you would like to view all City property under the jurisdiction of NYC Parks, please visit NYC OpenData.
