Dongan Playground shares a city block with P.S. 052 John C. Thompson, and it serves as a playground for these schoolchildren and for the Dongan Hills community. An entrance on Dongan Hills Avenue contains handball courts and an asphalt yard used for basketball. The Mason Avenue entrance is more open, containing a shaded plaza for seating. The play area includes restrooms, a water feature, toddler swings, and both low and high play equipment for kids of all ages.
