Paul Raimonda Playground is music to the ears of local residents! The playground's centerpiece is a piano-shaped spray shower, which was designed to honor of the musical history of Steinway & Sons, the piano manufacturer who became the neighborhood's namesake. The playground also features a turf field, basketball and handball courts, a shade-covered seating area and fitness equipment for adults, and play spaces for kids and toddlers. The playground, open since 1941, was renamed to honor Paul Raimonda, a local community activist and founder of the Astoria Heights Homeowners and Tenants Association.
