Astoria Heights Playground is a place of activity and energy for the children and families of Astoria. The playground was designed with significant feedback from the nearby I.S. 10 as well as the local community. It has been divided into two sections; athletic courts are featured on the upper side of the park, while a playground and passive areas are on the lower side. It features play equipment for kids up to age 15, and a spray shower area with 10 jets. The athletic field can be used for tennis, volleyball or baseball, and includes a walking track around the perimeter. At the community's request, the playground also features a picnic area with a small lawn for neighborhood congregation.
